Catch up

So I have been pretty busy. This post is just to summarize what has happened during the 8 months prior.

We finished school lacrosse season which was fine. Lincoln then embarked on a brutal schedule which entailed tournaments all over, 7 in 8 weeks. Played some very good teams and exposed ourselves to the top level of lacrosse. Did a camp in Chicago late July to finish everything off capped off with meeting Michigan lacrosse coach Kevin Conry.

Clayton played a fun summer of baseball with Diamonds. School season hits. Gabby gets back into figure skating and tries out for Caledonia Chaos fast pitch softball and makes the 12U team. She is ecstatic. Lincoln and I begin a 7th grade season of football which was very successful and he played well, this time at wide receiver and linebacker and safety even.

Clayton is unsure if he wants to play for his club, fox motors or if he wants to join the Caledonia team. He plays with them a bit during fall. He ultimately decides to continue with an 18U season with Fox motors, even though the team is very different from the one a year before. Lincoln goes to Florida twice for lacrosse. the family goes with him to Orlando for a vacation. We then just went to California to play the tournament there. He does extremely well there. Joining up with the box team to finish the season with them on two tournaments. Glad to be done with travelling for a bit.

Clayton gets invited to visit the Maryland Black Bears during Thanksgiving week along with his teammate Logan. He practices with the team for the week and does well. A month later, he gets offered a tender for Maryland, which we accept. 12 years of work and our first break to the next level. We are very happy. He is allowed to practice with the team if he wants. He may be called up to play if they are short kids also.

Gabby has a good Christmas skating "showcase" with her teammates. She is practicing during the winter with her softball team.

Unfortunately the Caledonia high school hockey team isn't doing well. They just aren't a good team. Clayton playing with them wouldn't have helped him develop much and I am certain we made the right decision not to join them.

In January, we are now going to Max Effort training facility. Gab and Linc are working with Nate twice a week. Clayton is training with my instruction. we'll see how it goes.

Some softball in March, continued lacrosse training and working on finishing the hockey season which hopefully will be our last at Fox as we are moving to other things.

A lot has happened....don't have time to go into more detail, but learning and training. Lincoln also wants to be able to dunk a basketball, so we are working on his jumping.

Coach Pennington and his staff did very well last year for Cal football and my hat is off to them. This program is completely different and it looks to be headed in a good direction. Boys basketball looks like they are decent and we route for our friend Liam.

Unfortunately the lacrosse program there lost both its coaches and is once again starting from scratch. really frustrating that they can't build something there.

Clayton also has a new baseball coach for Caledonia which should be good too. We are doing box, and indoor lacrosse during the winter.
